A Start of a New Adventure

We have some huge news! We are about to start a new adventure and I can’t wait. We decided to do something big, a little crazy, and a lot of fun…. and it’s not just us. We have been keeping this a secret for a while because we weren’t sure if it would actually happen, but it’s time to share. Ready??

We convinced some of Jake’s family that Ohio is where they should be! We have loved living here and especially living next to Jake’s brother, Jared, and his family. But, we are so excited to have even more family close by! Jake’s sister, Rachel, just moved out here a few weeks ago with her family. His parents are also going to follow in a couple of years (once they retire). If that wasn’t big enough news, we all decided to buy a property and subdivide it amongst us. When it’s all surveyed, we’ll have about 50 acres to build our farm. I can’t wait to share what fun ideas we have for it! Think homestead, a huge flower garden, orchards, the biggest pumpkin patch you have ever seen, and a few other surprises….(whisper) maybe a wedding venue.

And when I say a new adventure, I mean a new adventure. It’s 200 acres of gorgeous land and it has absolutely nothing on it…. but that just means we can make it our own, right?! First up we are clearing land, putting in a road, and working on getting power into the property. Work? Yes…Amazing? Double yes!

We’ll do our best to document our adventure, share what we are dreaming up as we carve out our little corner of happiness, and take you along as we design and build our home. It’s going to be exciting and I hope you can join us.
